Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Officers for 1996 will be Tamara Piulle as chairperson and Jeff Filippi as vice <br /> chairperson. <br /> M/S Piulle/Saye: To extend the meeting 15 minutes to 9:45pm. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 14-FOCUS 96/COMMISSION WORKPLAN <br /> Commissioner Piulle showed the Commissioners a chart she designed with <br /> all the various sub-committees currently in existence for the Cultural <br /> Commission. She will be update the chart as changes occur. It was requested <br /> that "Publicity" be added to the March agenda. <br /> The Commissioners reviewed the 1995 Cultural Commission Annual Report <br /> to City Council and made corrections to finalize the report. <br /> Commissioner Filippi suggested having an announcement board and <br /> establishing a library file of performing bands. <br /> M/S Filippi/Distefano: To extend the meeting 10 more minutes. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Commissioner Piulle asked about the John Gill dance program and the fact <br /> that they were supposed to provide their own space for this activity as noted <br /> on their grant application. Commissioner Saye said he understood the <br /> program will be held at the Community Activities Building (CAB) on Fridays <br /> from 9:00-11:30am and the Veterans Memorial Senior Center on Tuesday <br /> afternoons. Superintendent Hartman verified that the program has been <br /> scheduled at the CAB and class will begin February 2, but that nothing has <br /> been scheduled at the Senior Center due to space availability. The issue of <br /> insurance was discussed with Ms. Bena and she is being covered by the School <br /> District. The sub-committee will meet to discuss the matter further. <br /> ITEM 15- EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD DURING THE <br /> PAST 30 DAYS <br /> -Commissioner Ball said she and Commissioner Saye attended the Chamber <br /> of Commerce installation dinner and the theme was helping the schools. She <br /> noted that construction was beginning of a downtown park in San Carlos. <br /> -Commissioner Saye went to the Palo Alto Players' production of George III at <br /> the Lucie Stern Theater and said it was very well done. <br /> -Commissioner Piulle spoke about the Grand Opening of the new Red <br /> Morton Center and the Commission's paver installed in the brick entryway. <br />
