Chairperson Redington will contact Superintendent Hartman as to whether he will be attending. It was suggested that the Mayor be invited to attend the awards program. ITEM 10-BUDGET A sub-committee was formed of Commissioners Ball, Filippi and Piulle to develop the Commission's budget for Fiscal Year 96-97. ITEM 11-CONFLICT OF INTEREST Superintendent Hartman gave each of the Commissioners a copy of a letter from the City Attorney regarding conflict of interest. This was in response to the Commissioners' request for clarification on this subject. She reviewed particular sections with the Commissioners and asked them to review the document. ITEM 12-CONCERT PROGRAM Chairperson Redington reported he made a presentation at the January meeting of the Port Commission to request funding for the 1996 Summer Concert Series. The Port Commission has not made a decision at this time and Chairperson Redington will follow up on this matter. Commissioner Piulle researched the cost to print a concert series flyer which would be mailed out in the monthly water bills to all Redwood City residents. She announced it will cost $500-$700 to print the necessary flyers and noted that she could not find anyone who wanted to advertise on the reverse of the flyer as a way to offset the printing expense. She therefore recommended that the Commission not pursue this because of the expense. It was suggested that the quarterly recreation brochure include a concert flyer which residents could cut out and retain for future reference. ITEM 13-ELECTION OF OFFICERS Commissioner Filippi thanked Chairperson Redington and Vice Chairperson Tamara Piulle for their work this past year. M/S Saye/Distefano: To nominate Tamara Piulle as chairperson. Motion passed unanimously. M/S Distefano/ : To nominate Virginia Ball as vice chairperson. Commissioner Ball declined the nomination. M/S Ball/Piulle: To nominate Jeff Filippi as vice chairperson.
