-Commissioner Filippi attended the Magnet Fair at Sequoia Station on <br /> February 24 and said it was done very well. He watched a video on Rosine <br /> Bena and a group of her students at the Magnet Fair. <br /> -Commissioner Saye commented on the watercolor presentation on display <br /> in the gallery in the Main Library. He also attended a performance of Rosine <br /> Bena's performing group at Nesbitt School in Belmont. He mentioned the <br /> community was very supportive and there was a fascinating response from <br /> the children. <br /> M/S Filippi/Redington: To extend the meeting to 10:OOpm. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> -Commissioner Redington said he also attended the Magnet Fair and <br /> mentioned he was very impressed with the event. <br /> -Commissioner Ball attended a dance program at Garfield School and stated it <br /> needed more publicity. She also attended the PCS performance of "Damn <br /> Yankees" and said it was excellent. <br /> -Chairperson Piulle also attended the Magnet Fair and was very impressed. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Chairperson Piulle announced she resigned from the Board of the San Mateo <br /> County Arts Council. <br /> -Commissioner Filippi announced Louie Bellson, one of the world's best <br /> drummers, will be performing with the Stanford Jazz Ensemble at Hayward <br /> State on Apri16 and at the Cubberly Center in Palo Alto on May 14. <br /> -Commissioner Fischer announced that after much deliberation, she has <br /> decided she will not seek re-appointment to the Civic Cultural Commission. <br /> She said she has changed her idea of community service and would like to <br /> spend more time helping children. She said she has had a wonderful tiine <br /> being on the Commission and asked the Commissioners to please remember <br /> the dance program. <br /> -Commissioner Filippi announced he will not be attending the Arts Star <br /> Awards. He mentioned the Intergenerational Program has been nominated <br /> for the Kent Award. Commissioner Fischer stated she also could not attend <br /> the Arts Star Awards. <br />
