-Commissioner Filippi attended the Magnet Fair at Sequoia Station on February 24 and said it was done very well. He watched a video on Rosine Bena and a group of her students at the Magnet Fair. -Commissioner Saye commented on the watercolor presentation on display in the gallery in the Main Library. He also attended a performance of Rosine Bena's performing group at Nesbitt School in Belmont. He mentioned the community was very supportive and there was a fascinating response from the children. M/S Filippi/Redington: To extend the meeting to 10:OOpm. Motion passed. -Commissioner Redington said he also attended the Magnet Fair and mentioned he was very impressed with the event. -Commissioner Ball attended a dance program at Garfield School and stated it needed more publicity. She also attended the PCS performance of "Damn Yankees" and said it was excellent. -Chairperson Piulle also attended the Magnet Fair and was very impressed. ANNOUNCEMENTS -Chairperson Piulle announced she resigned from the Board of the San Mateo County Arts Council. -Commissioner Filippi announced Louie Bellson, one of the world's best drummers, will be performing with the Stanford Jazz Ensemble at Hayward State on Apri16 and at the Cubberly Center in Palo Alto on May 14. -Commissioner Fischer announced that after much deliberation, she has decided she will not seek re-appointment to the Civic Cultural Commission. She said she has changed her idea of community service and would like to spend more time helping children. She said she has had a wonderful tiine being on the Commission and asked the Commissioners to please remember the dance program. -Commissioner Filippi announced he will not be attending the Arts Star Awards. He mentioned the Intergenerational Program has been nominated for the Kent Award. Commissioner Fischer stated she also could not attend the Arts Star Awards.
