Civic Cultural Commission Page S <br /> Minutes of July I1, 1996 <br /> ITEM 6-FOCUS 96-97 <br /> Chairperson Piulle will work on the Commission's Priority List with <br /> Secretary Monroe. <br /> ITEM 7- EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD DURING THE <br /> PAST 30 DAYS <br /> -Commissioner Britschgi stated she attended the El Camino Youth Symphony <br /> concert at Stafford Park on June 20, the 4th of July Parade and the line dancing <br /> event that followed. <br /> -Commissioner Redington said he attended the 4th of July Festival which was <br /> well received and good for downtown. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> -Commissioner Saye noted the PCA sponsored a contest for the best decorated <br /> merchant's windows for the 4th of July. Commissioner Distefano, joan <br /> Jordan and Bob Bryant were the judges. <br /> -Chairperson Piulle requested that all letters that go out from the <br /> Commission will be placed on Commission letterhead. The chairperson will <br /> also be provided with copies of all letters sent by the Commission for their <br /> reference. <br /> -Philanthropic Ventures Foundation has funds available for grants between <br /> $200 and $2,000 to encourage community arts. The Commissioners were each <br /> given a news release with the contact name and number for this program. <br /> -Commissioner Saye asked staff to contact Chris Bohl of the Redwood City <br /> School Board regarding a possible grant application from teacher Jesse <br /> Silverman of Hoover School for a tile program. Secretary Monroe agreed to <br /> cont�ct Mr. Bohl after july 15. <br /> -Commissioner Ball would like to have the Christmas Sub-Committee on the <br /> August agenda. <br /> -Manager Hannon stated there are 2 pieces of incoming mail left by <br /> Commissioner Filippi which will be in the August packets for information. <br /> -Chairperson Piulle received a letter from Mayor Hartnett asking the <br /> Commission to review their 95-96 accomplishments and to develop a new <br /> workplan for FY96-97 before August 30. This matter will be placed on the <br />
