Civic Cultural Commission Page S <br /> Minutes of September S, 1996 <br /> M/S Redington/Saye: That the Civic Cultural Commissioner be actively <br /> involved in the development of the new Redwood <br /> Shores community center and public art at that facility. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> -Review of Committee Assignments <br /> Chairperson Piulle reviewed the Committee Assignment list and a revised <br /> list will be produced and forwarded to the Commissioners. <br /> ITEM 5-FOCUS 96-97 <br /> The Commissioners discussed the third and fourth items on their Priority <br /> Workshop List. The third item was "Intergenerational Program <br /> involvement" and this item will be deferred until next meeting since <br /> Commissioner Filippi is primarily involved in this project. The fourth item <br /> was "Working with other Boards/Commissions". The Commissioners <br /> discussed this item and how they would like to interact with other boards and <br /> commissions. Manager Hannon suggested having the Park and Recreation <br /> Commission and the Cultural Commission get together to plan the <br /> dedication of the new Red Morton Center art work. A sub-committee of <br /> Commissioners Ball (chair), Distefano and Saye agreed to work on this <br /> matter. Secretary Monroe will contact Park and Recreation Commission <br /> Chairperson Pauline Truscelli. <br /> TTEM 6-CORRESPUNDENCE <br /> -An invitation was received for the 1996 Art Star Awards to be held <br /> September 26 from 11:30am-2:OOpm at the San Mateo Elks Club. The <br /> Redwood City Art Center will be honored as the outstanding arts <br /> organization. Commissioners Saye, Redington and Ball will attend. <br /> -A letter was sent out to all Redwood City elementary school principaLs <br /> announcing the Commission's support of the NOTE (No Tin Ears Program). <br /> -The Commission received a certificate announcing that it has been adopted <br /> as a lifetime member of the Sequoia Alumni Association. <br /> ITEM 7- EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD DURING THE <br /> PAST 30 DAYS <br /> -Commissioner Britschgi attended the last two concerts in the park and the <br /> King's Mountain Art Fair. <br /> -Commissioner Ball attended the Labor Day Fest at the Senior Center and the <br /> Greek Festival in Belmont. <br />
