Civic Cultural Commission Page 4 <br /> Minutes of Septe►nber S, 1996 <br /> Roll Call Vote: Yes-4 (Britschgi, Redington, Saye, Piulle) <br /> No-2 (Ball, Distefano) <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 3-UPDATES <br /> -Summer Concert Series <br /> Chairperson Piulle asked each Commissioner to write up an evaluation of <br /> the concerts they hosted and/or attended and bring to the October meeting, <br /> along with any ideas or comments they might have for next year's program. <br /> Ma��ager Julie Hannon mentioned it was very helpful having the sub- <br /> committee assist in the planning of the series and felt the subcommittee <br /> should assist each year. <br /> -Red Morton Center Art <br /> Chairperson Piulle reported a check was sent to artist Helen Webber for a <br /> small color version of the art work. It should be received September 20 and <br /> will be brought to the October meeting for the Commissioners to review. <br /> The full size art work will be completed and shipped November 27. <br /> -Sister City International City Hall Art Project <br /> There was nothing to report. <br /> -Marketing Plan <br /> Manager Hannon reported that 35 marketing packets were mailed to <br /> individual art groups. <br /> ITEM 4-SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> -Holiday Pmgram <br /> Commissioner Ball reported the "Tis the Season" sub-committee is very <br /> enthusiastic and had an excellent turnout at their first two meetings and their <br /> next meeting is September 19. She reported on the proposed events for the <br /> week of L�ecember 8 and announced that Loretta Knight is working on <br /> advertising. Cost of a full page ad in the Independent newspaper (Redwood <br /> City, Redwood Shores, San Carlos and Belmont) will cost $1,800.00 but they <br /> are looking at selling business card ad space along the border to help pay for <br /> the ad. Commissioner Ball announced the various groups involved will be <br /> completing grant applications to be presented at the October Commission <br /> meeting. <br /> -Percentage for the Arts-Redwood Shores Community Center <br /> The Commissioners discussed that fact that they would like to be involved in <br /> the development of the Redwood Shores community center so that it will <br /> incorporate public art into the facility. <br />
