. II '.

be deposited with the Court -- in this case $855,000. The Agency wi 11
also apply for an order of possession. Since this action will not
displace residents, the Agency will seek a 30 day service of the order of
possession.
-
Michael Church
Executive Director
In response to Council questions, Executive Director Church advised that
Council had in March adopted the staff recolll1lendation as Council policy to
offer development of low to moderate housing to not-for-profit developers
and Council can change that at any time. The salient fact of this
development is that the number of units be between 20 and 24 and that the
units be affordable.
Director Murray noted for the record that the Board had received a counter
offer from Mr. Khatri which included a copy of the Agency's original offer
to him.
Director Greenalch advised that at the March Meeting some of the Directors
made a commitment to private developers that they would not be excluded
from making a proposal.
In response to Director's questions, Agency Attorney Schricker advised
that the suggestion of Director Stangel to allow not-for-profit and
for-profit developers to bid on this project, need not be formally
adopted, but the Directors could revise the last sentence of Page 1 of the
subject report.
-
Director Greenalch suggested that the project definition previously
approved be kept, but also state that at this Meeting, the Agency
Directors amended the Report to say the Redevelopment Agency will look for
an experienced developer to build these units at 811 Whipple Avenue.
MEMO 7/22/92
In response to questions regarding acceptance of this project by the
neighbors of 811 Whipple Avenue, Mr. Church advised that the project was
rather amorphous at this moment, but when approved, the developer would be
in contact with the neighbors. Directors discussed neighborhood support
for a quality project that was voiced at the hearing on March 9, 1992, and
the Agency's commitment to that idea.
Vice Chairman Bury opened the Public Hearing at 9:42 p.m., and invited
anyone who wished to speak to please do so. No one wished to speak.
MIS: CLAIREISTANGEl TO CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING.
CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE AND HEARING CLOSED AT 9:43 P.M.
MINUTE ORDER NO.
