Civic Cultural Commission puge 7 <br /> Minutes of February 6, 1997 <br /> -Commissioner Ball attended the Chamber of Commerce Awards at which <br /> Superintendent Centeno received the Athena Businesswoman of the Year <br /> Award. She also attended the "Music of the Silver Screen" concert at the San <br /> Mateo Performing Arts Center and a Hungarian violinist performance at <br /> Zellerbach Theater. <br /> -Commissioner Distefano spoke regarding the Messiah Lutheran concert <br /> series and thanked Commissioner pon Saye for establishing a new venue for <br /> musical concerts. She also attended the performance of James and the Giant <br /> Peach at Canada College. <br /> -Commissioner Saye also attended the concert at the San Mateo Performing <br /> Arts Center. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Chairperson Piulle announced she will be "Principal for the Day" at John <br /> Gill School on March 19. <br /> -Commissioner Ball shared a fundraising idea about a school in Walnut <br /> Creek where a parking space was auctioned off.. <br /> -Commissioner Filippi announced he will be "Principal for the Day" at <br /> McKinley School. <br /> -Commissioner Saye announced he will be "Principal for the Day" at Garfield <br /> School. <br /> -The Sequoia Awards will be held on February 18 and Paula Uccelli will be an <br /> honoree. <br /> -The Commissioners thanked Chairperson Piulle for her leadership during <br /> the past year. <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was adjourned at <br /> 9:45pm to be reconvened at 7:OOpm on T'hursday, March 6, 1997 to be held at <br /> the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br /> California. <br />
