(yes-5, No-2) <br /> ITEM 9-ELECTION OF OFFICERS <br /> Chairperson Piulle thanked all of the Commissioners for their work during <br /> the past year and opened the floor for nominations for Cultural Commission <br /> Chairperson for 1997. <br /> Commissioner Filippi nominated Virginia Ball as chairperson. <br /> Commissioner Saye nominated Oliver Redington as chairperson. <br /> M/S Saye/Distefano: To close the nominations for chairperson. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Voting results: Ball - 5 votes; Redington - 2 votes <br /> Virginia Ball was elected chairperson of the Cultural Commission for 1997. <br /> The nominations for vice chairperson were opened. <br /> Commissioner Ball nominated jeff Filippi. Commissioner Saye nominated <br /> Oliver Redington. Commissioner Britschgi nominated Lettie Distefano. <br /> The nominations were closed for vice chairperson. <br /> Voting results: Filippi - 3; Redington - 2; Distefano - 2. <br /> Jeff Filippi was re-elected as vice chairperson of the Cultural Commission for <br /> 1997. <br /> ITEM 9 - EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD DURING THE <br /> PAST 30 DAYS <br /> M/S Filippi/Saye: To send a letter to Pete and Paula Uccelli thanking them <br /> for their sponsorship of the recent Peninsula Symphony concert at the <br /> San Mateo Performing Arts Center. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> M/S Filippi/Distefano: To invite Pete and Paula Uccelli to the awards <br /> ceremony in june. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> -Commissioner Filippi attended the Magnet Fair and gave the <br /> Commissioners an informational handout provided by John Gill School. <br />
