Minutes of the Civic Cultural Commission Page 4 <br /> Thursday,March 5, 1998 <br /> ITEM 6 — EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD DURING THE <br /> LAST 30 DAYS <br /> -Commissioner Britschgi reported on her visits to several art galleries in the <br /> Carmel area. <br /> -Chairperson Ball reported on the Center for the American Musical Program at <br /> Canada College and Commissioner Distefano's attendance at the John Gill <br /> performance at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. <br /> -Commissioner Saye reported on his attendance of EI Trovatore presented by <br /> the West Bay Opera Company at Lucie Stern Theater. <br /> -Superintendent Centeno reported on the successful "Redwood City Downtown <br /> Comes Alive" held at Foresters Hall on February 26. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Superintendent Centeno noted that the Veterans Memorial Senior Center was <br /> celebrating Women's History Month with a collectible show, lunch, and special <br /> performance on Friday, March 6, 1998 and encouraged the Commissioners to <br /> attend. <br /> -Superintendent Centeno also reminded Commissioners to return their Form 700 <br /> to Secretary Denise Monroe by no later than March 31, 1998. <br /> -Chairperson Ball and Commissioner Britschgi reported that the Peninsula Hills <br /> Womens Club would be installing a "Mission Bell" at the southern entrance to <br /> Redwood City (near Mel's Bowl)on March 21 at 4:OOpm. <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was adjoumed at 9:10pm <br /> to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Thursday, April 2, 1998 at the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, Califomia. <br />
