Ideas <br /> suggested include: My Favorite Hobby, My Favorite Pet, My Favorite Place <br /> to Visit, My Favorite Vacation, and Redwood City 2000 - Your Vision. <br /> Commissioneis: P/ease b�ing your ideas and be ieady to make a decision at <br /> the Decembe�meeting on the theme fo� the art contest. <br /> ITEM 2 - SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> -Budget <br /> Commissioner Del Carlo reported she met with Commissioner Britschgi and <br /> they would like to have funds set aside for public art for public buildings. <br /> The funds woutd be paid by developers and put into a special account for <br /> public art. <br /> Superintendent Centeno read and handed out copies of Pamela Fischer's <br /> column in the Redwood City Independent which spoke about the cancellation <br /> and indefinite postponement of "Mame" by the Peninsula Center Stage (PCS) <br /> which was to be presented in December at the Fox Theater. The grant made <br /> to PCS to cover this production was part of their FY98-99 grant request. <br /> Superintendent Centeno will research this matter and write a letter to PCS <br /> regarding the cancellation of the production and their grant request <br /> agreement. <br /> -Planning <br /> Commissioner Pierce said she will try to finish the report this month. <br /> -Public Art <br /> Chairperson Redington and Commissioner Britschgi will be meeting with Nick <br /> Watry on November 15 to pursue the establishment of a public art fund. The <br /> Commissioners received copies of a League of Califomia Cities document <br /> regarding public art in their November packets. <br /> Superintendent Centeno stated that Community Development Director <br /> Deborah Nelson would like to speak to the Commission at their December <br /> meeting regarding her concern about where public art should be located and <br /> the development of criteria for locating public art. The jade ship from Zhuhai <br /> was discussed and the donation of gifts from the Sister City program. <br /> Superintendent Centeno suggested contacting Paula Uccelli regarding the re- <br /> location of the jade ship and Chairperson Redington agreed to call her. <br /> -Tis the Season - CCC Sponsored Events <br /> Commissioner Det Carlo reminded the Commissioners of the Holiday Parade <br /> to be held on Saturday, December 4. <br />
