She explained that <br /> this grant request will help fund a composer for a video production featuring <br /> mathematics. <br /> M/S Douglas/Dale: To grant $500.00 to the Casa de Redwood. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> M/S Dale/Del Carlo: To grant $999.00 to )ohn Gill School for their <br /> math show. <br /> Commissioner Dale spoke in support of the program. It was suggested that <br /> students from other schools be provided with a copy of the video production. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> ITEM 2 — LARGE GRANT REQUEST <br /> -Raiser Resources, Phase Two 7azz Series <br /> Erin Raiser shared photographs of phase one of the jazz series at City Center <br /> Plaza. She stated attendance has increased from 150 to 600 per <br /> pei-formance and the final concert is tomorrow evening from 5:00-8:OOpm. <br /> Commissioner Dale spoke about the demographics of people attending the <br /> concerts, suggested a jazz festival in the downtown area, felt the concerts <br /> were a benefit to local businesses, and suggested a "donation" box. <br /> Chairperson Britschgi suggested having visual art in conjunction with a <br /> concert and advertising the concerts in our quarterly recreation brochure. <br /> M/S Del Carlo/Dale: To grant Raiser Resources $10,000.00 for their <br /> Fall 2000/Phase Two ]azz in the Plaza Concert Series which will be <br /> funded from the large grant category. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> The following items were taken out of order: <br /> ITEM 4 — SUMMER CONCERT 2000 REVIEW <br /> Superintendent Centeno reported that 238 surveys were collected from two <br /> of our summer concerts. A report with the survey results was prepared and <br /> distributed to the Commissioners.
