Civic Cultu�al Commission Page 3 <br /> Minutes of November 2, 2000 <br /> ask that the concerts be moved to another location. The Commissioners <br /> discussed the results of the concert surveys including the 95% who felt that <br /> the concerts should remain at Stafford Park. The Commissioners discussed <br /> the high popularity of the park, "coziness" of the location, Stulsaft Park <br /> opening will help with crowds; consistency for attendees, suggestion of more <br /> than six concerts, Sunday concerts, having concerts in Redwood Shores, and <br /> having one concert at Redwood Shores, one concert at the Port and the rest <br /> of the concerts at Stafford Park. Manager ]an Knight suggested working with <br /> the Redwood Shores Homeowners Association to provide a concert at their <br /> Rubber Ducky event. <br /> M/S Dale/Soultanian: To continue the Summer Concert Series at <br /> Stafford Park and pursue one Sunday concert at a park in Redwood <br /> Shores. <br /> Chairperson Britschgi stated that she sampled several of the Stafford Park <br /> neighbors who indicated they were in favor of having the concerts at Stafford <br /> Park. She felt that with the sampling and the survey results that the <br /> concerts should remain at Stafford. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Commissioner Dale left the meeting at 8:15pm. <br /> Superintendent Centeno will send a letter to the Port Commission to request <br /> their support for next year's concert series. She will also send a letter to <br /> Mrs. Travers notifying her of the Commission's decision to have the concerts <br /> rem�ain at Stafford Park. <br /> ITEM 5 - SUB-COMMITTEE REVIEW &APPROVAL OF ASSIGNMENTS <br /> The Commissioners reviewed and approved the sub-committee assignments <br /> as follows: <br /> Children and Schools - Dale, Soultanian (chair to be determined) <br /> Public Art - Britschgi (chair), Douglas <br /> Commission Sponsored Events - Del Carlo (chair), Kushin, Ball <br /> Budget - Ball, Dale, Britschgi (chair to be determined) <br /> Liaisons - Strategic Planning - Del Carlo, Kushin (alternate) <br /> 'Tis the Season - Ball <br /> Downtown Area Planning Committee - Del Carlo <br /> Art Share - Britschgi; Soultanian (possible alternate) <br /> ITEM 3 - STANFORD DIGITAL ART PROJECT REPORT <br /> Superintendent Centeno reported that Professor Greg Niemeyer was <br /> supposed to attend this evening's meeting to report on the project. She <br /> showed the Commissioners the historical postcards and advertising poster <br />
