Superintendent Centeno agreed �o bring the-brochure to the ne� <br /> meeting for the Commission to update. <br /> -Strategic Plan Update <br /> Commissioner Del Carlo reported the c�mmittee met this week and has <br /> arranged four public hearings at various city facilities in order to gather public <br /> input. The dates of the public hearings are: <br /> Tuesday, February 29, Sandpiper.Community Center, 7:30pm <br /> Wednesday, March 1, City Council Chambers, 7:30pm <br /> Saturday, March 4, Red Morton Park, 2:OOpm <br /> Tuesday, March 7, Fair Oaks Community Center, 7:30pm <br /> Commissioner Del Carlo stated the committee is looking for suggestions to <br /> determine what the public wants and needs in the way of park and recreation <br /> facilities and programs. The committee is currently doing an inventory of <br /> existing resources. <br /> ITEM 3 - EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD OVER THE PAST 30 <br /> DAYS <br /> Del Carlo - Vintage Music Theatre performance at Veterans Memorial Senior <br /> Center; "The Irish and How They Got That Wayp <br /> Schenone - Rehearsals for "Mid-Summer Nights Dream" at Northstar. There <br /> will be a special matinee performance on March 1 at 9:OOam in McKinley <br /> Auditorium for Redwood City students and the Commission is invited to <br /> attend. <br /> Dale - "Snow on Cedars", Millennium Party at Veterans Memorial Senior <br /> Center featuring Jeff Filippi's Big Band; Martin Luther King services at <br /> Messiah Lutheran Church; ballroom dancing class offered by our department <br /> Britschgi - taking Tai Chi class offered by our department <br /> Redington - Port Commission meeting on January 26; Martin Luther King <br /> services at Messiah Lutheran Church on January 16 <br /> Items for March Agenda: <br /> -Brainstorming on what needs to be in strategic plan <br /> Commissioner Schenone spoke about attending a meeting on the downtown <br /> cinema project and felt that design of the building, parking, and public art <br /> were big issues. She requested that copies of the consultant's report she <br /> had received at the meeting be forwarded to all the Commissioners for their <br /> ' review. She reported that the Architectural Advisory Committee will be <br /> reviewing the project and suggested that a representative from the <br /> Commission should attend their meeting.
