Redwood City Inte�national is co-sponsoring <br /> the event with the San Mateo County Art Museum and Young Latino <br /> Leade�s. Chairperson Redington mentioned that Commissioner Dale had <br /> expressed his support of this event. <br /> Commissioner Saye asked if his membership on the Carrington Hall <br /> Restoration Committee was in conflict with the grant to PCS and <br /> Superintendent Centeno replied there was no conflict. <br /> M/S Saye/Del Carlo: To grant $8,385.00 to Peninsula Center Stage. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> M/S Saye/Del Carlo: To grant 5999.00 to John Gill School. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> M/S Britschgi/Saye: To grant 5450.00 to Redwood City International. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Superintendent Centeno reviewed the following correspondence received: <br /> -A thank you letter from John Gill School for thei� grant to fund the <br /> p�oduction of "Pushes and Pulls". <br /> -A letter from the Silicon Valley Art Museum stating they will be presenting <br /> to the City Council and asking them to recommend use of the Fiscal Building <br /> to the County Board of Supervisors. The letter also asked fo� the <br /> Commission's support and attendance at the Council meeting. <br /> -EI Camino Youth Symphony annual benefit concerts on March 4, 5, and 9. <br /> -Redwood City Education Foundation invitation to "Juke Box F�iday Night" on <br /> March 24 at Foreste�s Hall. <br /> -A flyer from Peninsula Civic Light Opera. <br /> -Newsletters from Sequoia Art Group, San Mateo County A�ts Council, <br /> Veterans Memorial Senior Center <br /> ITEM 2 - SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> -Budget <br /> Commissione� Del Carlo spoke about the recommendations of the sub- <br /> committee and �eviewed them with the Commissione�s. Recommendations <br /> included: annual budget for fiscal year 00-01 would remain at 576,150; fo� <br /> fiscal year 01-02 would increase to 577,500; transfer 57,500 from the <br /> Commission-sponsored events category in FY99-00 and place it into a <br /> sepa�ate account to establish a public art fund used to p�omote art in city <br /> buildings and other public spaces. Superintendent Centeno pointed out that <br /> the Port donation for the concert series was placed into the John Raitt Fund <br /> in order to set aside the funds for payment to music groups this summer. <br /> M/S DelCarlo/Britschgi: To adopt the recommendations presented by the <br /> Budget sub-committee as detailed in their minutes of February 22, 2000. <br /> Motion passed.
