Civic Cu►tural Commission Page 5 <br /> Minutes of Thursday, April 6, 2000 <br /> -Strategic Plan Update <br /> Commissioner Del Carlo reported that four public meetings were held <br /> but there was not a good turnout to any of the meetings. The <br /> committee is looking at using a consultant to help with the process. <br /> Funds have been requested in the FY2000-01 budget. <br /> ITEM 5 — EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD OVER THE <br /> PAST 30 DAYS <br /> The Commissioners reported on events they attended: <br /> Saye-"Mame" at Carrington Hall <br /> Schenone-"Mid-Summer Nights Dream" at North Star Academy; two <br /> medieval plays at San Francisco City College; "Bug Music" at Stanford <br /> University <br /> Britschgi-Mexican fiesta and art walk in Puerto Villarta <br /> Del Carlo-Woodside High School dance with jazz band at American <br /> Legion; "Juke Box Friday Night" on March 24 earned $37,000; "Mame" <br /> at Carrington Hall <br /> Redington-"Juke Box Friday Night"; "Wall that Heals" at Central School <br /> in San Carlos <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Chairperson Redington reminded all the Commissioners to call ahead <br /> if they cannot attend a meeting. He also reminded everyone that <br /> voting on the art contest finalists needs to be completed by Friday, <br /> April 14. <br /> -Superintendent Centeno announced "Day in the Park" which will be <br /> held on Thursday, May 4 from 9:30-12:OOnoon at the CAB. The <br /> program is designed for childcare providers and pre-school age <br /> children. She also announced that the department received State <br /> funding for three after school programs involving 195 children. <br /> -Commissioner Saye spoke about the Ralph Ledesma paintings at City <br /> Hall which have been removed and hung in private areas; he will <br /> research this and report back to the Commission. <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was adjourned <br /> at 9:55pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Thursday, May 4 at City <br /> Council Chambers at 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, Californ�a. <br />
