Minutes of the Civic Cultural Commission Page 5 <br /> Thursday, May 4, 2000 <br /> -Cultural Commission Sponsored Events, Del Carlo <br /> Commissioner Del Carlo reported that the first concert will be held on <br /> Wednesday, June 21�. We are still in need of bands. The concerts wiil take <br /> place at Stafford Park. Everyone was invited to submit ideas. <br /> -Strategic Planning, Del Carlo <br /> Commissioner Del Carlo reported on the presentation by a consultant on how to <br /> put together a Strategic Plan and possible support from Council to hire a <br /> consultant to assist the Department in putting the plan together. <br /> -Public Art, Britschgi <br /> -Presentation to Planning Commission on Proposed Public Art Fee <br /> Commissioner Britschgi reported that the Planning Commission meeting went <br /> well with a presentation from the staff person that developed the public art <br /> ordinance in Menlo Park. Planning Commissioners Tamara Piulle and Michael <br /> Verdone agreed to sit on a committee to work on the ordinance for Redwood <br /> City. <br /> ITEM 5 - EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD DURING THE LAST <br /> 30 DAYS <br /> Commissioner Dale reported on seeing Mame at Carrington Hall and the North <br /> Star Academy production of Midsummer Nights Dream. <br /> Commissioner Schenone reported on her service as a chef at a Murder <br /> Mystery Dinner held at the first house built on Farm Hill in the earfy 1900's. <br /> Commissioner Britschgi reported on her visit to the Botanical Gardens in Santa <br /> Barbara. <br /> REQUESTS FOR ITEMS ON NEXT AGENDA <br /> M/S Dale/Schenone: To accept request for Fiscal Year 2000-01 funding and <br /> develop recommendations for funding subject to Council budget approva! <br /> at the June meeting. <br /> Motion passed unanirnously. <br /> The Commissioners asked staff to invite John Anagnostou to the August meeting <br /> to provide an update on the Fox Theater situation. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Staff indicated which Commissioners had terms of office that were ending; <br /> provided applications and timelines for the Commissioners. <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was adjoumed at 9:50pm <br /> to be reconvened at 7:OOpm on Thursday, June 1, 2000 at the Community <br /> Activities Building,1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, Califomia. <br />
