� Civic Cu/tural Commission Page 3 Minutes of December 6, 2001 Commission Strategic Plan Follow-up - Director Centeno reported that she is currently updating the Cultural Element based on the recommendations made at our Strategic Planning meeting. The document will be ready at the ]anuary meeting. -Public Art, Hanging of Ledesma Art Work Chairperson Britschgi reported that Bob Parkhurst of the Sequoia Art Group stated they would be happy to assist in the hanging of the Ledesma art work at the City Hall Gallery. The art work will hang at that location for three months. Chairperson Britschgi will pick up the four pieces and have them re- framed. The Commissioners asked about the proposed mural on the water tank and Director Centeno said the Public Works Director was not opposed to the project. The Commission needs to form a sub-committee to move forward on this project. ITEM 3 - ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR 2002 M/S Douglas/Ball: To nominate Warren Dale as chairperson of the Civic Cultural Commission for 2002. There were no other nominations made and the nominations were closed. Motion passed unanimously. M/S Ball/Soultanian: To nominate Brian Douglas as vice chairperson of the Civic Cultural Commission for 2002. There were no other nominations made and the nominations were closed. Motion passed unanimously. ITEM 4 -EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD OVER THE PAST 30 DAYS The Commissioners reported on events they attended the past 30 days: Soultanian - 'Tis the Season Event Ball - `Tis the Season Event, will be attending the Nutcracker at the Fox this weekend Douglas - visited the Sydney Opera House and a ballet performance while in Sydney, Australia Britschgi - Library Foundation event, Art Center reception which was hosted by the Peninsula Hills Women's Club, grandson's debut in a play
