Chairperson Britschgi asked that the group encourage the decoration of downtown storefront windows. • Strategic Plan Update Director Centeno reported that she is currently working on a Power Point presentation to be used in our outreach to various community groups to get input on future directions for the Department. She also reported that the Commission could expect a presentation from the Downtown Task Force at a future meeting. • Public Art Chairperson Britschgi reported on a recent mee�ing that Manager Griffith had with staff from the City Attomey and Planning Departments. A meeting with the subcommittee needed to be scheduled prior to presentation to the Planning Commission. Ms. Piulle asked that the meeting be held sometime in August. • Chairperson Britschgi asked that Commissioners consider rescheduling the regular August meeting to the second Thursday of the month, A�gust 9"'. All Commissioners present agreed to the change in date for August only. APPROVAL OF MINUTES M/S Douglas— Dale to approve the minutes of the June 7, 2001 Commission meeting as mailed. ITEM 4— EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS OVER THE PAST 30 DAYS • Commissioner Soultanian spoke regarding her bay view for the 4�' of July Fireworks • Vice-Chairperson Dale reported on finro visits to Jazz at the Plaza, a Brian Wilson and Paul Simon concert at Shoreline and the 4"' of July Battle of the Bands. • Chairperson Britschgi spoke about the Jazz in the Plaza and the 4"' of July festivities. • Commissioner Del Carlo reported on her attendance at Jazz in the Plaza, the Irish Tenors, and the Port 4�' of July Concert. • Commissioner pouglas reported on his bay view of San Francisco Fireworks, his appreciation of Redwood Symphony and his attendance at Jazz in the Plaza.
