Civic Cultura/Commission Page 3 <br /> Minutes of September 6, 2001 <br /> M/S Ball/Del Carlo: To grant $500.00 to Casa de Redwood. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> M/S Ball/Kushin: To grant $1,000.00 to Canada College Arts and <br /> Olive Festival. <br /> Motion passed. (Yes-4, No-i) <br /> ITEM 2 - SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> -Budget <br /> No report. <br /> -Children and Schools <br /> No report. <br /> -Cultural Commission Sponsored Events <br /> The Commissioners discussed the summer concert series and the possibility <br /> of having them weekly after July 4 until the end of August because of <br /> weather considerations. <br /> Commissioner pouglas stated that representatives from 'Tis the Season will <br /> be meeting with Mayor Ruskin on Tuesday, September 11 at 9:30am. <br /> -Strategic Plan Update <br /> Downtown Area Planning Committee - No report <br /> San Mateo County Arts Council - Commissioner pouglas spoke about the <br /> status of the Arts Council with Matias Varela <br /> Set-up meeting for development of Commission Strategic Plan - The <br /> Commissioners discussed having the October or November meeting <br /> dedicated to the development of the plan. Secretary Monroe will check with <br /> Chairperson Britschgi and Commissioner Soultanian to determine what month <br /> would work better for them. <br /> -Public Art <br /> Commissioner pouglas stated the committee will be meeting very soon. <br /> ITEM 3 - EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD OVER THE PAST <br /> 30 DAYS <br /> The Commissioners attended the following cultural events: <br /> Kushin - attended two summer concerts, Midsummer Nights Dream, Greek <br /> Festival <br /> Ball - attended the Greek Church in Oakland, Princess Diaries <br /> Douglas - attended two summer concerts <br /> Del Carlo - attended one summer concert <br /> Dale - attended one summer concert, Asilomar, Genesis Church Gospel <br /> Church Choir <br />
