G. & E. to go ahead witl-4 installat _on of li •i�ts in Redwood Villas -e. .Mayor <br />Hilton assured Mr. Traver that if he would bear with the City a few days, he was sure <br />that the matter would_ be taken care of. Councilman Granger moved that City Manager <br />Rolison, contact P. G. & E. reauestinr them to hold equipment for installation of <br />lights in Redwood Village pending further negotiations. The motion was seconded <br />by Councilman i-lcNulty and carried. <br />ALVARO PASSARO APPLIED FOR STREET LIGHT CORi?ER OF BRE'..STER & ALA:,iEDA DE LAS PULGAS. Mr. <br />Passaro, 2751 Stanley, stated the City ;promised this light would be installed in <br />1940 and again in 1941 but nothing was done about it. Councilman Granger suggested <br />that this be placed on agenda for January 19th pending renort from City 1".1ana.ger <br />Rolison and Fire Chief Lodi regarding installation of same. mod <br />1-1101:ARD HALL, FRIEI:DLY ACRES Ai`'NEXAT:=OTS. i4r. Hall questioned delay on annexation of <br />Friendly Acres to the City of Redwood City stating that on September 15th a petition <br />was signed by 260 persons and turned in on October 7th, and an additional petition <br />later bringing total number of signatures to 304 in f«vor of annexation. At the <br />Town Hall IVleeting on November 14th ouite a few were opposed to it. Councilman <br />Holmquist revealed that an informative discussion took place after the meeting which <br />resulted in a, better understanding; of some of the opponents. City Manager Rolison <br />stated he had mailed to members of the City Council a stt'tement in which he attempted <br />to set forth estimated exaense of installin€ services such as fire and -police <br />protection, street lights, etc., but that he had not had an opportunity to discuss <br />the matter further. Iiayor Hilton suggested ti"lat the Councilmen study the report <br />anc? disclzss the matter before the next meeting. On motion of Councilman Granger, <br />seconded by Councilman Holmq,-zist, and carried, matter place on the Ruenda for <br />January 19th. <br />BROADWAY IVO. 3 IMPROVE,; TS. City Attorney Currie rea?;ested that this be carried on <br />the agenda for January 19th. It was so ordered. <br />REPO -RT 011 LOCAT:"ON OF THE RECREATION BT iILDI°G. City Manager Rolison advised he had <br />visited the site and, with the assistance of members of Recreation Commission, had <br />selected a site which ha.d been staked out. The building it set in the center of <br />lot facing Roosevelt Avenue `,lith about 05' clearance on the east and west and a <br />50' set-bac'X from Roosevelt. A letter from i1r. Ida L. Dodge, 1030 Roosevelt <br />Avenue, was read by the Clerk protesting location of the building. City Engineer <br />explained teat room was allowed on tine opposite side of the building for the ball <br />diamond and she would be less disturbed t1.an if the ball diamond were nearer her <br />property. Mayor Hilton assured her that the net; building would be an improvement <br />,.ter <br />in the er)Dearance of the property. <br />SOUTH KE11. GTJ1 S'�UARE Ai fdEXATTO ;. The s_)ecial election held on December 30th <br />1947 for the annexatiori of Solith Kensington Square was canvassed by the Council <br />with the following result: <br />PROPOSIT7-0." ivo. 1.
