H. Horgan, Jr., <br />Chairman of Planning Commission. Occupant has s})ent 4500 on the builCinp� and put <br />store front on the house. After discussion anc a report from the building inspector <br />Councilman Granger offered motion olTner be cited to ap?�Par before the City Police <br />Judge, seconded by Councilman 14cNulty and carried. <br />$5.00 RAISE FOR CITY E.1]:PLO'f ES was brought up by Councilman Holmquist saying that city <br />employees fl sked for a 120.00 per month increase in salaries last June to compete <br />.+ with rising living costs, at which time the Council compromised by giving them a <br />115.00 increase with t --_e promise that if living, costs continued to rise, and he <br />stated there was no quest ion but t'Za.t t`:.ey had risen, the Council would grant them <br />the other 15.00 which had been placed in the `Tnbudgeted Reserve for this p,zrpose. <br />City Attorney Currie �)ointed out that specific salaries will require an amendment <br />to the salary ordinance. CDuncilman Britschgi moved that City Attorney Currie <br />take steps to bring in at the next meeting necessary recommendations for all <br />rualified employees to receive a salary increase of 15.00. Motion was seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty and carried. <br />COTTD:CILIYlAN HOLMQUIST CO:-LviENITED on inadequate lightin facilities for the street denart- <br />meet, as he encountered men reuairine, a fire hydrant one night before Christmas. <br />City I•Ianag-er Rolison t,ras instructed to cneck into the matter. <br />CGUIICTL,!AI- WERDER REVEALED that new flood lig lts at Whipple and_ El Camino are not the <br />1oroper size lamps as yet. City Attorney Currie also remarked that a pedestrian <br />hnd phoned his office stating lights are not over pedestrian lane. Fire Chief Lodi <br />suggested if pedestrian lane were moved to the north side of Whiplale it, would be <br />directly under the two lights. Howev--r, he was of the opinion this trojzld. not be <br />entirely satisfactory altho,ig 1 it would be some improvement. He was furthermore <br />of the opinion that reflectors should not be used on account of glare for motorists. <br />It was finally decided to move the pedestrian lane to the north side of Whipple and <br />increase the candle power of tine lamps. <br />COT?i1CII,.
