M. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were present: Councilman Carl A. Britschgi, H. E. Holmquist, <br />George W. McNulty, Arthur V. Swift, William E. Werder, Mayor W. W. Hilton and <br />City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also present were City Manager E. A. Rolison, City Engineer <br />Glenn M. Jain, City Attorney C. B. Currie, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Police Chief C. L. <br />Collins, Assessor & Auditor John J. Brophy, Building Inspector L. M. Duncan, City <br />Collector Paul E. Perrin and Assistant Engineer H. L. Winter. Councilman Floyd D. <br />Granger noted absent. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes of the meeting of January 5th were approved on motion of <br />Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman McNulty, as mailed, and carried. <br />PROTEST OF PROPOSED NEW ZONING ORDINANCE BY JOHN A. SULLIVAN# attorney for Carl H. Feldman <br />was read. Lot 12, Portion of Lot 11, Block K. Boyd & Kents' Addition was purchased <br />on March 2nd, 1946 by Mr. Feldman as business property and he now protests rezoning ' <br />of this section to multiple dwelling and apartment house zoning, or expects com- <br />pensation from the City for damage to the value of property. Letter referred to <br />the Planning Commission to be considered at their meeting of February 9th. <br />REDWOOD CITY EMPLOYEES EXPRESS APPRECIATION FOR SALARY ADJUSTMENT PROPOSED AT January 5th <br />Council meeting. A letter addressed to the Council from the President of Redwood <br />City Employees' Association, Joseph McSherry, was read expressing appreciation by <br />unanimous vote of this group for promisekept by the Council which action will do <br />much toward keeping up the morale of the organization. Letter ordered filed. <br />REQUEST FOR CORRECTION 1947-48 TAX ROLL by City Assessor, J. J. Brophy, was read asking <br />that $53.7b be deducted from old assessment of $275.52 changing assessment to $221.76 <br />due to error on map on Block 503, Lot H-1 of Peter Sorenson, 919 Arguello Street. <br />in accordance with Section 40b2 of Revenue and Taxation change must meet with <br />approval of Council. It was moved by Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman <br />Swift to approve this deduction in Tax Roll. Motion carried. <br />HENRY NISSEN PROTESTED DISAPPROVAL OF PLANNING COMMISSION RE -SUBDIVISION Lot 9, Block <br />10, Edgewood Park Tract. A letter was read from Planning Commission disapproving <br />John L. Maxwell's request to re -subdivide Lot S, Block 10, Edgewood Park Tract <br />stating that lots in this area, they felt, should be kept at their present widths <br />In conformance with present developed lots surrounding this property. Mr. Nissen <br />whose Lot is 58-1/4' wide, wanted to purchase 10' from the owner next to his lot <br />whose frontage is 751, there being no variation in depth of lots. Mr. Nissen would <br />now like to compromise by purchasing 5' from the owner of adjoining lot giving him <br />03-1/41; house he proposed to build is about 48' wide. City Engineer Jain with <br />
