7.A. - Page 2
2) The property at 425 Douglas Ave. is currently located within the district, but is served
from a pole outside the district; therefore, there is no need for this property to be
included in the district.
3) The property at 520 Pine St. should be included in the district. PG&E has verified that
the utility pole is in the district and the property does need to convert.
4) An error was made in the legal description. While the MUUD map shows parcel #10,
the legal description did not include it.
Additional adjustments to the boundary may be required if a utility company requests
modifications and they result in exclusion or addition to the underground district territory.
ALTERNATIVES
Council may choose not to open a public hearing, not introduce the ordinance or
introduce the ordinance with modifications.
FISCAL IMPACT
All of the undergrounding work will be funded by PG&E, using Rule 20A funds, and the
other overhead utilities located in the district. Redwood City's fiscal participation in this
project relates to City streetscape improvements. Currently, there is a budget of
$300,000 in fiscal year 2013/14 Middlefield Road Utility Underground and Streetscape
Project for the design of such improvements. Additional funds, if necessary, will be
budgeted in the future once the design and estimated construction costs are further
developed.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This project is categorically exempt pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15302(d)
Replacement or Reconstruction as it involves the conversion of overhead utilities to
underground.

CLAUDIA OLALLA,ASLA
SENIOR LANDSCAPE DESIGNER
G
BILL EKERN
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
i .
