ADJOURNMENT, TO ADJOURN AT 11:15 P.M. <br /> CARRIED BY UNANIMOUS VOICE VOTE. <br /> - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> In answer to Agency Di rectors' quest ions, Mr. Brady advi sed that all 49 <br /> units would sell in the $200,000 to $220,000 range and therefore all <br /> units are considered to be in the low to moderate range. <br /> Jack Anthony, Chairman of the Senior Affairs Commission, stated the loss <br /> of the Canned Food store for the proposed residential project and <br /> $2,000,000 of Redevelopment Agency funds was not a fair trade. <br /> Mabel King, Kansas Street, told the Agency Directors that Redwood City <br /> needs affordab le food shoppi ng for the many, not 8 affordable units for <br /> the few. <br /> Carolyn Preston, San Carlos, told the Agency Directors the very sad <br /> events in her life and how important the Canned Food store was to her <br /> and to her family. <br /> Councilwoman La Berge described the laudable goals of the proposed <br /> residential project and affordable groceries to the colTIßunity, but <br /> suggested there were ways the City cou ld reach its commitment to <br /> affordable housing goals in a more beneficial way; such, as the vote, as <br /> Councilmembers earlier in the evening, that will more than likely result <br /> in 8 affordable units being built on existing, oversized lots. <br /> M/S: LA BERGE/GREENALCH TO GO FORWARD WITH ONLY THE COMMERCIAL <br /> - COMPONENT OF THE TRESTINE DEVELOPMENT ON MAIN AND BROADWAY <br /> Councilwoman Steinfeld advised that there are two affordable senior <br /> complexes in that area already and another one is not needed at this <br /> time. <br /> MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOllOWING ROLL CAll VOTE: <br /> AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS GREENALCH, LA BERGE, STEINFELD AND MAYOR BUCHAN <br /> NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS CLAIRE AND SANFILIPO <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO.
