These are non -conforming <br />lots and should not be built upon. Some lots will be even steeper and smaller when the <br />proposed road reduces their square footage. <br />Why is this being overlooked? <br />According to their appeal, the developers of Laurel Way Venture say the lot size granted by the <br />PC is too small for them to make a profit. This must mean that they are not going to live on <br />Laurel Way. <br />Each person who buys one of these houses will have to deal with slippage and mud slides. I ask <br />that you consider slippage and the continuous movement that is common in this area. <br />My lot at 3709 Laurel Way (zone R-1 ) is 10,300 sq. ft. and the lot is pretty level. The house is <br />1700 sq. ft. plus garage. I have been here since 1972. Even though my lot is pretty level there <br />has been always some soil movement. From the dry season to the wet season, door sticks, <br />cracks appear. <br />In May 1998 1 had the front steps replaced because they sank a few inches and separated from <br />the house. In July 2009 1 had a new foundation and new support built to keep the steps from <br />sinking again. There is always water coming down the hill in the wet season and causes <br />movement. Many other neighbors report the same problem. <br />Nothing major you would say? Consider that this is happening on a pretty level R-1 Lot. <br />Imagine what would happen on LWJV's steeply sloped lots. <br />Please consider: <br />• the future repercussion of the LWJV project on the existing homes: <br />• the destruction of the last green belt of Redwood City and <br />• the liabilities the project poses for the City. <br />Thank you for reading this page. <br />Enrica Poggio <br />3709 Laurel Way <br />
