8.A. - Page 491 <br />(4) The Planning Department decided in 2011 to make changes to the <br />Geotechnical mitigation measures and those were successfully <br />accomplished by Redwood City's environmental experts. <br />(5) If Laurel Way were in any other neighboring city in the peninsula, it <br />would have already been developed and the individual land owners <br />would have had a home to live in. <br />As residents of Redwood City, we strongly advocate individual land <br />owner's right to build his/her residence as long as regulations and <br />restrictions as defined by the City are fulfilled. We also strongly oppose <br />the unreasonable intransigence of those who resist other's progress for <br />sheer selfishness. We believe our City will be benefited by the <br />improvement contributed by this planned development. Hence we <br />are in favor of approving the EIR as was submitted and <br />allowing the individual land owners to develop their private <br />land on Laurel Way. <br />With Regards, <br />
