8.B. - Page 52
• Mobile emissions (e.g., emissions from combustion of fossil fuels for vehicle trips to
and from the site)
• Emissions from the generation of electricity to operate lighting, appliances, and
HVAC on the site, and to convey water to the site.
4.7.2.2 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Impacts
The proposed project would result in short-term emissions of GHGs during demolition and
construction activities. The project is located in an urbanized area within close distance of
construction supplies and equipment. Full build-out of the project would take less than one year with
demolition work taking approximately two days, grading activities taking one to two weeks,
foundation work and framing requiring approximately two months, and interior/exterior finishing and
landscaping activities taking a maximum of ten months. Given the small nature of the project
(demolition of an esting single-family residence and construction of five single-family residences),
construction of the project would not generate substantial GHG emissions. (Less than Significant
Impact)
A project consisting of five single-family residences is below the minimum GHG emissions
screening size described in the BAAQMD thresholds (56 dwelling units for single-family
development). Based on the relatively small size of the project, and the project location at an infill
site less than half a mile from transit(within walkable distance),the project would result in a less
than significant operational GHG emissions impact. (Less Than Significant Impact)
The project would not generate GHG emissions in excess of established thresholds and would be
built in compliance with the City's Green Building Ordinance. The project, therefore, would not
conflict with any applicable plan, policy or regulation adopted for the purpose of reducing the
emissions of GHGs and it would not generate GHG emissions at levels that are considered to have a
significant impact on the environment. (Less Than Significant Impact)
4.7.3 Conclusion
The project would not conflict with an applicable plan, policy or regulation adopted for the purpose
of reducing GHGs. The proposed project would not result in a significant impact from GHG
emissions.
