8.B. - Page 80 <br /> 4.16 TRANSPORTATION <br /> 4.16.1 Settin� <br /> 4.16.1.1 Roadway Network <br /> Roosevelt Avenue is a collector street located to the west of the project site and Woodside Road <br /> (State Route 84)is an arterial street located to the east of the project site. Both roadways provide <br /> access to Valota Road in the project area. Valota Road is the only road adjacent to the project site. <br /> Valota Road is a two-way residential collector roadway located adjacent to the north side of the <br /> project site. The e�sting driveway that accesses the project site enters the site at an acute angle from <br /> a curve in Valota Road(see Figure 3,Existing Site Conditions). Highway 101 and Highway 280 <br /> provide regional access to the project site via Woodside Road. <br /> 4.16.1.2 Existing Pedestrian and Bicycle Facilities <br /> Pedestrian Facilities <br /> Pedestrian facilities in the project area consist of sidewalks along Valota Road and crosswalks at <br /> nearby major intersections including Valota Road/Roosevelt Avenue and Valtoa Road/Woodside <br /> Road. Existing sidewalks provide pedestrians with safe routes to surrounding land uses in the area. <br /> There are several other crosswalks in the area,including three school crosswalks across Valota Road, <br /> south of the project site. <br /> Bicycle Facilities <br /> Valota Road is a designated bicycle route. Additionally,there are bicycle lanes on Massachusetts <br /> Avenue and Alameda de las Pulgas within 0.50 miles of the project site. <br /> 4.16.1.3 Existing Transit Service <br /> E�sting transit service in the project area is provided by the San Mateo County Transit District <br /> (SamTrans) and Caltrain. SamTrans bus routes that serve the project area include bus route 271 <br /> which provides service along Virginia Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue, and routes 295 and 72 which <br /> provide service along Woodside Avenue in the project vicinity. Routes 271 and 295 provide <br /> connections to the Redwood City Caltrain Station located on James Avenue, appro�mately 1.40 <br /> miles north of the project site.
