8.B. - Page 111 <br /> 11 The tree protection fencing is not to be moved without approval from the City or <br /> Project Arborist. <br /> 12 The area within the fencing is the Tree Protection Zone (TPZ). <br /> 13 Tree Protection Zone (TPZ) Restrictions <br /> 13.1 All work within the TPZ is to be approved by the Town or Project Arborist prior <br /> to the commencement of the task. <br /> 13.2 No vehicles or equipment are allowed within the dripline or TPZ of any <br /> protected tree. <br /> 13.3 No storage or dumping of construction materials, equipment, supplies, <br /> chemicals, paints, concrete or spoils is permitted within the TPZ, <br /> 13.4 No exhaust is permitted to be discharged into the canopy of trees. <br /> 13.5 Boring or tunneling beneath the TPZ for the installation of services is <br /> recommended in place of trenching. <br /> 13.6 All work within the TPZ is to be performed by hand held equipment. The use <br /> of a pneumatic device such as an Air Spade�for excavation is encouraged. <br /> 13.7 Grade changes or excavations within the TPZ are to be first authorized and <br /> later supervised by the Project Arborist. <br /> 14 Tree Contractors <br /> 14.1 All pruning of trees is to be performed by a State of California Licensed Tree <br /> Contractor. All pruning is to be performed or directed by a Certified Arborist <br /> or a Certified Tree Worker in accordance with the Best Management <br /> Practices for Pruning (International Society of Arboriculture) and adhere to <br /> the most recent editions of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) <br /> for Tree Care Operations (Z133.1) and Pruning (A300). <br /> 14.2 If necessary, the Project Arborist should monitor any pruning of the trees. <br /> 15 The Project Arborist should make monthly site inspections to confirm the proper <br /> implementation of tree protection measures.
