'I <br /> <br /> Housing Coordinator Jones-Thomas presented the staff report and advised that the <br /> state's delayed decision on funding tax credits delayed the MidPeninsuia Raiser <br />- Corporation nom completing their proposal on time. <br /> Councilwoman Steinfeld expressed her opposition to the retail ground floor component <br /> of the project. <br /> Vice Mayor Hartnett asked if anyone in the audience wished to speak to this issue. <br /> John Mooney, 980 Pleasant Hill Road, Redwood City, quoted cost figures of this project <br /> and stated they were on the high side for low-income housing. <br /> Joe Steinfeld, 850 Main Street, Redwood City, stated this project was not cost effective, <br /> and the market was not interested in a mixed use project. <br /> MIS: STEINFELD/SANFILIPO TO EXTEND THE ERN FOR 120 DAYS AND <br /> HAVE A HEARING WHICH WOULD INCLUDE THE COSTS AND COST <br /> EFFECTIVENESS OF THIS PROJECT. <br /> SPEAKING TO THE QUESTION: <br /> Chairman pro tem Hartnett and Agency Attorney Schricker described the process for <br /> approval of this project including the costs, land financing, conditions and necessary <br />'- hearings. <br /> Director Howard further discussed the approval process and reminded staff and the <br /> developers that there were certain characteristics to be included in theproject, focal points, <br /> entry features, Victorian facades on the south side, and blending of this project with the <br /> Library and City Hall that were expressed in the original intentions for this project, and <br /> should not cost more money nor be sacrificed to an inferior standard due to the delay in the <br /> ERN process. <br /> Board Directors discussed the process and negotiations. <br /> ITERATION OF THE MOTION: <br /> MIS: STEINFELD/SANFILIPO TO EXTEND THE ERN FOR 120 DAYS AND HAVE A <br /> HEARING WHICH WOULD INCLUDE THE COSTS AND COST EFFECTIVENESS OF THIS <br /> PROJECT. <br /> MOTION FAILED ON THE FOLLOWING ROLL CALL VOTE: <br /> AYES: DIRECTORS SANFILIPO AND STEINFELD <br /> NOES: DIRECTORS BUCHAN, HOWARD, AND CHAIRMAN PRO TEM <br /> HARTNETT <br />- MINUTE ORDER NO.
