.1�.�,'�gation Monitorirag and Kepor�irag Plan <br /> US 101 PEDESTRIAN UNDERCR�SSING AND <br /> BAIR ISLAND STORM DRAIN PUMP REPLACEMENT PROJECT <br /> MITIGATION MONTORING AND REPORTING PLAN <br /> The Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Plan (I1�ZI') describes the roles and responsibilities in <br /> monitoring aad reporting on the ixnplementation af the proposed mitigation measures identified in <br /> this D�aft Mitigated Negative Declaration {MND) for the US 101 Pedestrian Undercrossing and Bair <br /> Island Storm Drain Pump Replacement Project,pursuant to Section 15097 of the California <br /> Environmental Quality Act {CEQA). CEQA requires lead agencies to prepare a MIVIlZP to ensure <br /> that the itnplementation of the mitigation measures adopted to reduce or avoid significant <br /> environrnental impacts addressed in this document. The MMRI'is a guide for facilitating the <br /> implementarion of the mitigation measutes and any other monitoring,reporting,or compliance <br /> acrivities associated v,�th the proposed project. <br /> As the lead agency under CEQA, the City of Redwood Citp {City) is required to monitor the <br /> canstruction and opexational activities of this project to ensure that the propose�mitigation <br /> measuxes are implemented and to ptepare reports that document imp�ementation of the measures. <br /> The City would appoint one petson responsible for implementing the MMRP and that person would <br /> have the authoriry to halt an���roject construcrion activities t�at deviate from the proposed project's <br /> mirigation measures. The person responsible fot monitoxing shall p�epare monthly reports that <br /> include the results of periodic monitoring and verification of the implementarion of the mitigation <br /> measures. <br /> The proposed project mirigation measures and the party responsible for monitoring the mitigation <br /> measures are listed below. <br /> AIR QUALITY <br /> Mitigatian Measure AIR 1: Basic Construction Mitigation Measures <br /> The City shall have the Contractor implement the following measures to reduce dust and exhaust <br /> emissions from construction acrivities: <br /> • All exposed sutfaces (e.g.,staging areas, soil piles,graded areas,and unpaved access <br /> roads} shall be watered two times per day. Watering shall not be�equired for storage <br /> and t�eatment of saturated Bay Mud prior to mixing and dispnsal. <br /> • All haul trucks transporting soii, sand, or othex loose materia�. o£f-site s�all be covered. <br /> • Contractors shall wash down all vehicles prior to leaving the site to prevent mud at dirt <br /> from being tracked-out onto public roads. All visible mud or dirt tracked onto adjacent <br /> �ublic roads shall be removed using wet power vacuum street sweepers at least once per <br /> day.Dry power sweeping equipment slzall not be used for tracked mud or dirt near the <br /> project entrance. Wash down water shall be collected onsite and directed away from the <br /> starm drain system and the creek.
