2 Enuiroramental Analysis
implemented to reduce potenrially significant impacts to any historical resources in the unlikely event
snch resources are encountered during project constructon.
Mitigation Measure CULT 1: Stop Wotk if Buried Historical Resoutces are Exposed
during Ground-Distutbing Construction
If ground-disturbing activities expose buried historical resources, work shall stop within a
50-foot radius of the find until a qualified historian has identified and evaluared the
signiEicance af the find and,if necessary, developed a plan in consultation with the Citp and
Caltrans,if found within the Caltrans right-of-way, for documentation or recovery of these
resources.
Withie implementation of these mitiga.tion measures, the potentia.Z impacts to historical resources
wauld be less than significant. (Less than Significant Impact with Mirigation Incorporation}
h} Cause a substatial adverse change in the signrfrcance ofarl archaeological resaurce
pursuat to Section 15064.5
Based on the Basin archaeoiogical resource surveys, the proposed project has a low to very low
potenrial of having any significant impacts to archaeological resources. However, the pxoposed
project could potentially uncover archaeological resources during ground disturbing construction and
excavarion. The fo]Iowing mitigation measures would be implemented to reduce potenrially
significant impacts to any archaeological tesources in the unlikely event such resources are
encountered during project construction.
Mitigation Measute CULT 2: 5top Work if Buried Archeological Deposits are
Eased during Ground-Disturbing Construction
If ground-disturbing activities expose buried archeological resources, work shall stop within a
50-foot xadius of the find until a qualified archaeologist has identified and evaluated the
significance of the ftnd and,if necessarp, developed a Treatment Plan in consultation with the
City and Caltrans,if found within the Caltrans right-of-way. Preservation in place shall be the
preferted tteatment method for archaeological resources per CEQA Guideline Secrian
15126.4(b) (e.g., avoidance, open space, capping, or easement}. Data recovery of important
informarion about the resource, research, or other actions determined during consultation,is
allowed if it is the only feasible treatment method.
With the implementation of these mitigaion measures, the potenrial impacts to axchaeological
resources would be less than significant.
