2 Enviramental Analysis
d)Be located an a site which rs iricluded ora list ofhazardous materials sites compiled
pursuarlt to Governmerrt Code Section 65962.5 arid, as a result, would it create a srgniftcant
hazard to the pu,ilic or the envixarrxient?
The project axea does not contain anp sites that are on the Iist of Hazardous Waste and Substance
Site maintained bp the DTSC,pursuant to Government Code Section 65962.5 (DTSC,2102}. Based
on the hazarcous materia.datahase searches and ESA {See Appendix F, one faciliadjacent to the
project area,at 350 Convention Wap,was reported to have LUSTs;the facility site-clean up has been
completed, and the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) c].osed the case as of February 6,
2001 (SWRCB,2013}. The proposed project wauld not involve any activiues on the parcels
identified as hazardous material-fisted sites. No federal National Priori.ty-listed (NPL} sites are
within a 3.0-mile radius of the project area. One acrie Compxehensive Environmental Response,
Compensation,and Liability Infornarion System{CERCLIS) site (Duolite Internaional} is
appoximately one mil.e southeast of the project area. Thee Resaurce Conservation and RecoTery
Act(RCRA) hazardous waste sites are within a 3.0-mile xadius of the project area;the closest is 1.3
miles to the northeast. At these distances,the materials at these sites woul.d not affect the proposed
consttuction aclivities. {No Impact)
f)For a project withiti the vicinrty ofa ptivate airstrip, would the project result in a safety
hazard for peaple resrdtng or working i the ptaject area?
The proposed project would be appromately 1.5 miles from the San CarZos Airpot and would be
consistent witlthe areas of influence established by the City and County Associaton of
Governments oSan Mateo County (C/CAG). The ground-level facilities would not result in a
hazatd to navigable airspace at the airport,according to the criteria in the Federal Aviation
Regulations (FAR) Part 77, 06jectsAffectinNavigaGleAir.+ace. There are no other private airstrips in
the vicinity of the pxoject area. There would be no impacts to airport safety. (No Impact}
g)Impaitimplementation ofo.rphysicallytnterfere with an adopted emergencyrespose
plan or emergency evacratiaplarl?
The praposed project would not interfere with any emergency response and evaluation plans. The
proposed construction activities would occur underneath the US 101 bridge or oa lands owned by
the City,outside designed roadways. All majar roads and evacuaton routes would be accessible
during construction. The City would design the proposed joint-use path to be capable of
accammodating passage of a fight duty emergencvehicle should access be needed in the event an
emergencp. {Less than Significant Impact}
2-40 US 10 Pedestrian Undercro.rsing rand Bair
Lrland Road Storrr Drdin Pui Station Project
