Update. CONSULTANT has also been involved in several of the recent development projects in
and around the interchange.
Subtask 3.2.2- Collect New Data
Based on local knowledge of recent studies, CONSULTANT will collect the following data for
the study area: traffic/bicycle/pedestrian counts, peak hour travel time runs, historical crash data,
and field observations. There are 12 existing intersections on Woodside road, Maple Street and
Veterans Avenue, shown on Figure T-1 that would need new AM and PM peak period counts.
These locations are listed below:
• Blomquist Street/Woodside Road
• Lyngso Access/Woodside Road
• Veterans Avenue/Woodside Road
• Broadway/Woodside Road
• Bay Street/Woodside Road
• Spring Street/Woodside Road
• Middlefield Road/Woodside Road
• Blomyuist Street/Maple Street
• Oddstat Drive/Maple Street
• Veterans Avenue/Maple Street
• Veterans Avenue/Chestnut Street
• Broadway/Chestnut Street
New freeway data is needed for the freeway between Marsh Road and Whipple Road. The
freeway counts serve multiple purposes in the analyses including: the review of forecasts, the
operations analysis, and development of traffic management plans (TMP). For the TMP, it is
necessary to collect data for an extended period including weekdays and weekends. For the
freeway analysis only mid-week data is needed. The proposed count locations for the freeway
mainline and ramps are show in Figure T-2. These counts will include the eight ramps at the
Woodside interchange, two ramps at Marsh Road, two ramps at Whipple Avenue, and four
mainline counts(two between Marsh Road/ Woodside and two between Woodside/Whipple).
CONSULTANT will reyuest the most recent three years of crash data (TASAS) from Caltrans.
The data reyuest will include: US 101 between Marsh Road and Whipple Avenue and for
Woodside Road from Blomyuist Street to Middlefield Avenue. CONSULTANT will request
crash data from the City of Redwood City for the 5 study intersections along Maple Street and
Chestnut Avenue.
ATTY/AGR/2013.164/URS PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGR
REV:10-15-13 VR
