sensitivity conditions along the US 101 corridor will be available for reference. Excavation of
the soil and substrate to obtain new geoarchaeological data is not proposed or included in this
scope.
The results of the field reconnaissance and geoarchaeological study will be incorporated into the
Archaeological Survey Report(ASR).
Subtask 5.4.4—Field Reconnaissance Architectural History
There are numerous built structures alongside the interchange, many modern, but some more
than 45 years old. JRP has preliminarily estimated that up to eight structures will require visual
inspection and recordation on DPR 523 inventory forms. Buildings or other resources that are
more than 45 years old will be evaluated to see if they appear to meet the criteria for listing in the
National Register of Historic Places, the California Register of Historical Resources, either as
individual properties or in an historic district. JRP also will undertake research to ascertain if
any resources less than 50 years old meet the exacting specifications for exceptional significance
under NRHP guidelines.
Subtask 5.4.5—Native American Consultation
CONSULTANT, in conjunction with Caltrans, will contact the State of California Native
American Heritage Commission (NAHC) for a review of the Sacred Lands Inventory. Native
Americans listed by the NAHC will be contacted for additional information on the area.
Documentation will be provided to Caltrans for completion of the required Native American
consultation. The results of the consultation will be incorporated in the ASR.
Subtask 5.4.6—Reports
An ASR, Historical Resources Evaluation Report (HRER), and Historic Property Survey Report
(HPSR) will be prepared. CONSULTANT will prepare the Project Vicinity, Location, and APE
maps for the HRER report as well as a short form HPSR and brief ASR. CONSULTANT will
draft the HPSR and ASR, which discuss the results of the archaeological inventory efforts
outlined above. Draft reports will follow accepted farmats for an ASR, HRER and HPSR.
Guidance by the Caltrans PQS in possible revised formats to meet the needs of the Programmatic
Agreement is anticipated.
JRP will prepare a brief HRER to assess the buildings, structures and objects in the APE for
listing in the National Register of Historic Places and California Register of Historical
Resources. The report will include discussion of the Southern Pacific Railroad crossing in the
project area, considered a historic transportation route. The report will be accompanied by DPR
523 inventory forms (Primary Records and Building, Structure & Object Records) for resources
requiring inventory and evaluation within the project area. The report will be prepared to
Caltrans standards for such projects, if properties more than 45 years old are found within the
APE. If no such properties are within the APE, a letter report documenting this finding will be
prepared as a reference to CONSULTANT's HPSR.
Any documentation beyond that stated here is considered beyond the current scope.
ATTY/AGR/2013.164/URS PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGR
REV:10-15-13 VR
