8.A. - Page 2
The Code further specifies that a public hearing is to be held for the purpose of
accepting and responding to public comment on the Report. The hearing can be part of
any regularly scheduled meeting. The California Health and Safety Code does not
require any action to be taken for mitigating contaminant levels that exceed the PHG, as
long as they are below the corresponding MCL. Review of the Report and comments
received on the Report are for information and recommendation purposes only.
This recommendation allows the City of Redwood City to meet the requirements of
California Health and Safety Code section 116470 which specifies that a public hearing
is to be held for the purpose of accepting and responding to public comment on the
Report.
ALTERNATIVES
Council may request additional follow-up information from the Public Works Services
Department in regards to information found in the Report, and/or questions or issues
raised in the public hearing.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is minimal cost to prepare the Report and conduct the review process (the
approved Water Enterprise Fund budget includes staff resources to meet State and
Federal regulatory requirements). There are no recommended actions in the Report that
would require additional expenditures.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines, section
15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or foreseeable physical
change in the environment.
JUSTIN CHAPEL
PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR

U
BILL EKERN
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
"
ROBERT B.
