The project site is served by the City of Redwood City Police and Pire <br /> deparbnents No changes are proposed to roadways that will reguire emergency response personnel to modify their <br /> traffic patZerns. Purthermore, the DTPP program EIR (pp. 8-2 through 8-21) cancluded that there would be no <br /> significant impacts on fire%mergency mec&cal service, parks and recreation, schools, or solid waste service <br /> resulting from the DTPP or projects built under it The DTPP program EIR (p. 8-3) c&c� however, identify a <br /> potentially significant impact regarc&ng emergency response and evacuafion due to traffic congesfion on local <br /> roads Mitigafion 8-1 c&rects the City to implement signal detectors to provide pnonty traffic signal timing for <br /> emergency response vehicles, which would reduce this impact to a less-than-significant level; this program is <br /> underway. <br /> To respond to Redwood City Police Deparbnent reguests, the project will include line-of-sight rac&o communication <br /> capability or a repeater system; cellular phone connecfivity in the parin�ng garage; a secunty pad entrance/exit <br /> system;an easy-to follow seguential unitnumbenng system;and site maps atthe project entries(Plan SheetA0.0). <br /> The applicant has prepared� analysis of the fire protection systems reguired for the project(Hughes Associates, <br /> Inc., Praposed Pire Protection Life Safety Peatures, 525 Middlefield July 30, 2013), which is subject to review and <br /> approval by the City. The project's life safety features will include, among others, an automatic spnnkler system, <br /> fire detecfion and alarm system, emergency voice/alarm communication system, emergency responder rac&o <br /> coverage system, on-site fire command center, smoke control system, and standby and emergency power system. <br /> 20 <br />
