6.A. - Page 10 <br /> November 7, 2013 <br /> To: Historic Resources Advisory Committee <br /> City of Redwood City <br /> Dear Committee, <br /> Please consider this our formal request for historic designation status for our home <br /> at 1052 Edgewood Road. We are seeking this status to take advantage of the tax <br /> provisions of the Mills Act,which will allow us to maintain the notable features of <br /> our house. <br /> Last year we retained Circa Historic Property Development to evaluate our house <br /> for possible historic features. Circa determined that our house was built during the <br /> major development of Wellesley Park during the 1930s. It is an early, rare, and <br /> intact example of the California Ranch style of architecture. <br /> Attached is a ten-year schedule of property maintenance and improvement we <br /> would undertake as part of a Mills Act contract with the City. Since we don't know <br /> the cost of some of these projects,the exact timing of each may need to be adjusted. <br /> Thank you very much for your consideration.
