6.A. - Page 19
agenda packet.
12. Framework for Decision Making
No new information at this time. Mr. Zack to contact City Attorney regarding the
document and if any action is needed by City Council or if this can be used only as a
reference tool with no action needed.
13. National Historic Preservation Month
Mrs. Eakin received a $500.00 donation from Rocket Fuel.
Mr. Zack to contact Vice-Chair Gernand in regards to a match of those funds and that
there will be no funding from the City.
Ms. Hagan will look into asking for donation of funds.
14. 147 Birch Vinyl Windows
Mr. Zack gave background regarding the property. Renovations were being done with
no permits, the Building Department asked the property owners to stop work, but
before this could be brought to the HRAC the Community Development Director
directed the Building Department to allow property owners to proceed with the work.
The original double hung wood windows were being replaced with vinyl windows. The
property is not designated and the window work does not require a permit when the
windows are only being swapped.
Chair Rolandelli stated that the property is within the proposed boundaries of the Mt.
Carmel District.
15. Oral Communications
• Mel's Bowl Sign — Chair Rolandelli stated that the Mel's Bowl sign was
moved to a car wash on EI Camino Real. There are two proposed plaques
on the property: one plaque states the history of the site and the other
plaque states the history and a picture of the sign.
• 418 Stambaugh Street — Chair Rolandelli stated that Mr. Zack received a
message from the owners of the home. It is an 1860's house in the
Stambaugh Heller District. The property owners want to replace the original
windows with vinyl. There is currently a Mills Act Contract on the property.
He suggested an on-site meeting to determine whether the original windows
are beyond repair. If it is an energy efficiency issue then the Committee will
explore alternatives to replacement to achieve the same goal. If a
determination is made that the windows are beyond repair the Committee
would like to see a sample or visiul of what the replacement windows will
look like.
Mr. Zack has asked to property owner to provide specs for the proposed
new windows.
• Chair Rolandelli received communication from Howard Bulca regarding the
purchase of property adjacent to the Post Office and is in need of
information regarding that site.
LEGAL22641265.1
