7.1.F. - Page 13
EXHIBIT "A"
SCOPE OF SERVICES
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The existing Walnut Street Interceptor is a 48 -inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe (RCP)
gravity sewer main that transports majority of Redwood City's (RWC) wastewater from the west
side of Highway 101 to the Maple Street Pump Station (MSPS), which is located east of
Highway 101. The 48 -inch RCP pipeline is encased in a 66 -inch welded steel pipe underneath
Highway 101. The wastewater is then pumped by the MSPS into the South Bayside System
Authority's (SBSA) conveyance system for treatment at the SBSA wastewater plant.
Redwood City seeks to design and install a parallel 60 -inch diameter pipeline, approximately
270 feet in length, to provide the redundancy and assurance by eliminating the risks associated
with the dependency on a single pipeline to convey the City's wastewater flows to the MSPS.
Task 1 Project Management
Project management involves three subtasks:
Task 1 - 1 Project Coordination
This task involves managing budget and schedule, including setting up the contract with the
City, and preparing invoices on a monthly basis. Project coordination will be guided by the
Project Memo, which will be prepared for the project team; The Project Memo will summarize
the scope of work, project schedule /budget, Quality Assurance /Quality Control (QA/QC)
procedures /forms, protocols for communication with the City, invoicing, and reporting
procedures. Other coordination components that will be featured under Task 1 -1 include:
® Project Schedule: Identifies activities to be performed by both the City and the
Consultant Project team. The schedule will be updated monthly.
O Status Reports: Consultant will provide monthly status reports to the City's Project
Manager as part of the invoice package, including a budget status spreadsheet,
schedule updates, and a listing of issues to be addressed related to the Consultant
contract.
• Public Outreach. The City will undertake public outreach related to this project. Any
assistance from Consultant for Public Outreach will be accounted for under this task.
Task 1 - 2 QA/QC
Effort for QA/QC will be tracked under this task for the design phases of the Project. Every
deliverable is reviewed by a second person before being sent out. Formal QC review of all
major deliverables will be conducted. Major deliverable reviews are expected to be conducted
for the Pre Design Report Supplement, the 75% Submittal, the 100% Submittal and the finalized
contract documents. These deliverables will consist of plans, specifications (including technical
specifications, general conditions, and special provisions), calculations, Technical Memo's (as
applicable) and an opinion of probable construction costs.
REV: 12 -05 -13 VR
Page l° of 18
ATTYIAGR.2013.24olKen nedyJen ks_237900
