The proposed award of $46,220 will cover the high priority roadway striping <br /> and signage components of the project. <br /> In order to receive the TDA Article 3 funding, the City must adopt a resolution (see <br /> attachments). <br /> Measure A funding <br /> City staff submitted an application for an additional $1,000,000 for the Measure A <br /> Pedestrian and Bicycle Program to supplement the funds received from the TDA grant. <br /> If the application is successful, the approved grant amount would be combined with the <br /> TDA grant funds to create a single Safe Routes to School capital project for design and <br /> construction. The current schedule has a draft funding recommendation going to the TA <br /> Board as early as March 2014. <br /> In order to receive the Measure A funding, the City must adopt a resolution of local <br /> support by Feb. 7, 2014 (see attachments). <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> Council may: <br /> • Choose to not adopt resolutions of support and direct staff to identify other <br /> funding sources. <br /> • Choose to not adopt resolutions of support and direct staff to not pursue the Safe <br /> Routes to School project. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> The local match for both grants will be covered by the Traffic Mitigations Fee Fund for <br /> Traffic Calming, with a current balance of $582,657.00 as of November 2013 month <br /> end. The committed City contribution is $100,000, which covers our commitment for the <br /> Measure A and the TDA grants. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br /> The actions associated with applying for and accepting funding do not constitute a <br /> project pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act guidelines.
