Woodside Road Widening Project <br /> 1) Motion: approve Task Order No.1 with Mark Thomas and Co., Inc. <br /> for additional landscape architectural services for the Woodside Road <br /> Project, in the amount of$8,500; (304) <br /> 2) RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br /> OF FUNDING AGREEMENT FOR THE WOODSIDE ROAD <br /> WIDENING PROJECT (SAN MATEO COUNTY <br /> TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY) (304) <br /> Council Member Bain requested that continued negotiations with CalTrans include <br /> discussions regarding landscaping along the median, not just from Broadway to the <br /> overpass but along the overpass continuing to Hudson. He requested that the City <br /> allocate funds to put in quality landscaping. He suggested considering other aesthetic <br /> alternatives such as those similar to Shoreline Boulevard, Millbrae A venue in <br /> Millbrae, and Rengstorff A venue in Mountain View. <br /> Community Director Nelson conveyed that additional money is available for <br /> medians and entryways which could be used to agument the subject project. Council <br /> Member Bain requested that those funds be used to upgrade the landscaping. <br /> Vice Mayor Ruskin concurred with Council Member Bain's comments to take an <br /> aggressive attitude to beautifYing all of the entryways and roadways that are <br /> prominent in the City whether or not they are under the City's sole jurisdiction. <br /> Mayor Howard conveyed that a constructive meeting was recently held with <br /> CalTrans and Assembly Member Ted Lempert. She noted that it was clearly stated <br /> that the Council is very serious about beautifYing the City. <br /> Vice Mayor Ruskin expressed appreciation to Mr. Joel Patterson, City Engineering <br /> and Construction Manager.
