She noted <br /> that they have many partners supporting them, and that they in turn provide support to <br /> others such as Samaritan House, HIP (Human Investment Project) Housing, and <br /> InnVision. <br /> Chris Canter, Vice President with InnVision Shelter Network, expressed thanks to <br /> Council and everyone involved for the support, particularly for the Maple Street Shelter <br /> and Redwood Family House and said they are delighted with the two-year funding. In <br /> the past year, they have, agency-wide, provided housing or support to over 1,200 <br /> Redwood City residents including 300 children as well as veterans and seniors. They <br /> are proud that over 95 percent of the families that complete their transitional housing <br /> program go back to stable housing and the average stay is about 114 days, showing <br /> that this is a timely and effective program. <br /> Cori Manthrone, Director of Programs for CORA (Community Overcoming Relationship <br /> Abuse), expressed their thanks for the ongoing support of CORA's mission and <br /> specifically their emergency shelters. They are excited to celebrate their 35tn <br /> anniversary of serving residents of San Mateo County and they recently purchased and <br /> moved into a stand-alone building in San Mateo that is much better for their clients <br /> because it is centrally located near public transit and they will also save funds monthly <br /> by owning the building. She shared some statistical information on the increased need <br /> for their services including their crisis lines; providing hotel vouchers; providing <br /> � emergency shelter from domestic violence; and, about 26 percent of their shelter <br /> residents were from Redwood City last year. <br /> Arne Croce, Executive Director of Peninsula Family Service, said they are a San Mateo <br /> County nonprofit that has provided families in need with services for over 63 years and <br /> he thanked Council for the second year of funding that is essential for the wide range of <br /> activities that they provide at the Fair Oaks Community Center (FOCC).
