Requested Council to set three dates for Council budget study sessions between June
27 through July 10, 1998, to review 1998-99 and 1999-00 budgets.
Finance Director Ponty also explained that the during the budget review process, three
City Departments would, as an experimental effort, be reviewed by management
professionals from the private sector. The three departments include Community
Development, Public Works Services, and Parks, Recreation, and Community Services.
He said the purpose of the review was to open up the budget process to individuals outside
the organization to get the benefit of the expertise of professionals in the private sector.
Director Ponty said a feasibility report would be done at the end of the budget process to
determine if expansion of this program would benefit the City and the community.
- Council discussed various dates for Council Study Sessions to review the budget.
MIS: HARTNETTIBUCHAN ESTABLISHED JUNE 29, JULY 6, AND JULY 9, IF
NECESSARY, AS COUNCIL BUDGET REVIEW MEETINGS
MINUTE ORDER NO 98-025
___n_____n_____-_____n___---------______n_----------------______n______--______n__--______n_nn______-----------
9.
