<br /> 2. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS (203) <br /> A. Daniella Devincenzi, 269 Ruby Street, San Carlos, representing the Redwood City-San <br /> Mateo County Chamber of Commerce, announced new projects and upcoming events, <br /> and invited Council Members and the community to participate: <br /> 1. The Chamber has made a commitment to serve as a support group for the newly <br /> created Redwood City Downtown Association, and wants to help in whatever <br /> capacity they can. Mrs. Devincenzi stated that Council Member Hartnett and <br /> Chamber President Richard Gordon would also be working on this project. <br /> 2. The Chamber has developed a Transportation Subcommittee to look into regional <br /> transportation issues. <br /> 3. The Chamber is reevaluating its endorsement process for economic development <br /> projects, so when they come before the Council with an endorsement of a project or <br /> issue, the Council and the community will understand the process that the business <br /> community has gone through. <br /> 4. The State of the City breakfast will be held on Friday, January 23, in the Sequoia <br /> Club, ITom 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. She invited the Council and members of the <br /> community to participate. The cost is $16 per person. <br /> 5. The 1O0th Annual Awards and Recognition Dinner will be held on Wednesday, <br /> January 28, recognizing businesses that have been members of the Chamber of <br /> Commerce for over 35 years. She stated that other members who will be receiving <br /> awards for their work in the schools include Kaiser Permanente and Burger King. <br /> She stated that the dinner is almost sold out and anyone interested in attending <br /> should make reservations as soon as possible. <br /> Mayor Howard said that each year the Chamber gives an award to a woman in the community <br /> who had demonstrated leadership and business acumen, and who volunteers in every aspect of <br /> the community.
