He said he would have no concern <br /> about making a motion to adjust them if the Association carne to the City Council and <br /> requested it. <br /> City Manager Everett said he thought that each Neighborhood Association could define <br /> its own boundaries, and the City would only be concerned if one Neighborhood <br /> Association wanted to "gobble up" another Association's turf. He said he would have staff <br /> liaison and Assistant to the City Manager Cherise Moore look into this matter and issue a <br /> report. <br /> MEMO 1/13/98 <br /> B. Library Award for Ethnic Materials Collection Development Program at Schaberg <br /> Library, Mayor Howard (710) <br /> Mayor Howard announced that the State Library Association had awarded a grant to the <br /> Redwood City Library. She congratulated Library Director Chen and her staff for earning <br /> this grant ITom the Ethnic Materials Collection Development Program, which included a <br /> set of Spanish language materials for Schaberg Library. Mayor Howard said the grant <br /> program was highly competitive and the Library staff exhibited efficient grant writing <br /> skills and perseverance. She encouraged Director Chen and the library staff to continue <br /> pursuing grant money, which was so helpful in supplementing the Library's budget. <br /> - MEMO 1/13/98 <br /> C. City Center Plaza Dedication Ceremony, Mayor Howard (100) <br /> Mayor Howard reported that the Raiser organization had scheduled a dedication <br /> ceremony on Thursday, January 29, at 4:00 p.m., at the corner of Main and Middlefield. <br /> She said there would be tours of the new housing, the child care center, and the retail <br /> development. She encouraged Council Members and members of the community to attend <br /> the dedication. She also commended Raiser development and Mid-Peninsula Housing for <br /> their outstanding accomplishments in the affordable housing market. <br /> MEMO 1/13/98 <br /> D. Compliment for Code Enforcement Officer Jerry Schnell, Mayor Howard (709) <br /> Mayor Howard referred to the City Manager's weekly update to Council, and <br /> complimented Code Enforcement Officer Jerry Schnell who gives the Council weekly <br /> code enforcement updates. She said the updates were very helpful in informing the <br /> Council about where the issues were in the community and how successful the department <br /> was in resolving them.
