AQUA TERRA, PRIDE AND BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE, AND REDWOOD CITY <br /> - WATERWAYS AREA CLEAN-UP PROJECT REPORT AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Redwood City Administrative Chief/Fire Marshal Louis Vella presented the staff <br /> report and introduced City staff who worked on the project: Port Director Mike Giari, <br /> Police Sgt. Anderson, and Assistant to the City Manager Moore. He expressed <br /> appreciation to Fire Chief Montez and Police Chief Bolanos for their support. He <br /> introduced Port Commissioners Smith and Miller, and Mr. Bob Hoffman and Mr. Ralph <br /> Nobles who are the Co-chairs of the Aqua Terra Citizens Committee. He acknowledged <br /> members of Aqua Terra and the Pride and Beautification Committee and Mr. Dean <br /> Peterson ITom San Mateo County Environmental Health. ChieflMarshall Vella showed <br /> slides describing the deplorable conditions that existed before the Aqua Terra Project <br /> focused on cleaning Redwood City's waterways. He expressed a special thank you to State <br /> Assemblyman Ted Lempert who was instrumental in securing funds for the clean-up under <br /> AB 1188 and introduced Erin Koch, District Representative of his office. Chief/Marshall <br /> Vella stated that the following entities were also involved in the success of this project: <br /> San Mateo County Sheriffs Office and District Attorney's Office, Bay Conservation and <br /> Development Commission (BCDC), California Department ofFish and Game, U. S.
