<br /> Council Member Hartnett spoke in favor of regional transportation solutions and <br /> advocacy as it impacts the entire city. He suggested alternatives be considered such as <br /> light rail, BART and water borne transit. He recommended that the City advocate at the <br /> regional, state and federal level. Council Member Hartnett said the City needed more <br /> parks and playing fields. He said if Pacific Shores is built they will establish two fields, <br /> because available area is so scarce. He suggested working with Canada College on this <br /> issue. Council Member Hartnett said the City's parks need improving now, as a several <br /> year gap negatively impacts a whole generation of children. Council Member Hartnett <br /> said the City had accomplished a lot in the field of public safety, paramedics, police <br /> staffing and the Redwood Shores Fire Station, but there are some little things that should <br /> be done now, such as shopping cart abatement and security around ATM machines. <br /> Facilitator Reeves gave Council Members little blue dots for them to place next to the <br /> priorities they preferred. <br /> -------______n______-______n______n______----------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> 5.
