<br /> Mayor Howard read the Proclamation and presented it to Pauline Truscelli, Chairperson <br /> of the Parks and Recreation Commission and Chairperson of the Arbor Day Celebration, <br /> Native Daughters of the Golden West, Bonita Parlor, No. 10. Chairperson Truscelli <br /> thanked the Council and invited everyone to attend the Arbor Day tree planting ceremony <br /> honoring Jack and Barbara Greenalch at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 1998 at the <br /> Veterans Memorial Senior Center garden. She said the Native Daughters had honored her <br /> husband twelve years ago and she had become Chairperson of the event since that time. <br /> Chairperson Truscelli described the spaghetti dinners she and her husband, Vince, prepare <br /> to raise funds for bronze plaques memorializing the celebrants of the Arbor Day trees <br /> planted throughout the years. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS (203) <br /> A. Ginny Hughes, 18 Admiralty Court, invited everyone to attend the corned beef, cabbage <br /> and green beer fund raiser for Kainos at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center, Monday, <br /> March 16, 1998. She said raffle tickets were available, and attitude adjustment will begin <br /> at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:15 p.m. <br /> Mayor Howard said she attended last year and it was a great event. <br /> MEMO 3/3/98 <br /> B. David Stuart, 927 Blandford, representing the Redwood City-San Mateo County <br /> Chamber of Commerce announced the beginning of the Chamber's 1998 membership <br /> drive. He said Putnam Lexus will host a Business Connection meeting for all current and <br /> prospective members on March II, 1998. He also announced the Mini Leadership <br /> Seminar this year, focusing on law enforcement, education and govemment, would be held <br /> on May 28,1998 at the Port of Redwood City. <br /> Mayor Howard said she had attended the seminar a few years ago, and it was a wonderful <br /> opportunity to learn about the City and County and to meet people who work in the <br /> community. <br /> MEMO 3/3/98 <br /> C. Irwin Zook, 1540 Hudson, announced the formation of a committee to place a rent <br /> stabilization initiative on the ballot in Redwood City.
